Summer Inspiration

Okay so it's officially summer in North Queensland, (even though technically it's still winter) so I can only imagine what summer is going to be like!!! This summer I'm looking for bold colours, print, but with a boho gypsy vibe. Channelling my inner Mary Kate Olsen & Nicole Richie.

Sneak peak into my mind

Here is a little peek of what is currently on my inspiration board. I'm not sure how it's all going to mesh together to create something amazing yet but that's half the fun of it!

Pastel vs Colour vs Prints vs Neon

There are so many different options to choose from in the fashion world currently and no matter if you are heading into Autumn or Spring, there are a lot of decisions to be made. Which palette are you loving at the moment? What is on your to buy list and what is in your wardrobe? A little bit of everything perhaps or maybe one particular trend has caught your eye. Of course there will be a lot of mixing and matching going on but I want YOUR opinion on what you will be rocking this up coming season.

Chiara from the blonde salad perfecting the pastel trend.

Colour pop: Dean Quinn rtw fall 2012 nyfw
Prints: Mary Katrantzou for topshop (shattered i missed out on this beauty)

Neon: Miroslava Duma (LOVE) wearing Christopher Kane

Or you could just skip the whole trend thing altogether and work it like Christine Centenera decked out in all black, and looking so chic.

What other trends and mini trends are you loving? How do you feel about Metallic jeans, here to stay or a one season wonder?

Sorry about the rushed short post, my poor puppy Chibi (who is adorable and only 3) got hit by a car this morning and had to be rushed to the vet's. She hasn't broken any bones but they are doing an x-ray to check for internal damage and she is on a fluid drip and has had pain killers. Please keep her in your prayers.

Home Shopping

So as I've mentioned a thousand times, I am in the middle of moving (yes still). Today i went to the cutest little store on High St in Malvern and picked up a couple of items. My apartment is still completely bare pretty much, I really should have focused on chairs for the table. Next stop Ikea!!

So while i was in the shop i thought i should take some pictures because seriously it has the best stuff ever!!!

Yep I took home a cup full of marbles, I had such high hopes for them they were going to go in a glass bottle with a cork in the top that i got for $2.99 (bargain) but unfortunately I didn't think it through and now i have a cup full of marbles that will not fit into the bottle. Oh well I did get a rug out of today so my apartment is looking a little bit less sparse.

This is the most decorated part of my apartment. I know these things take time but I want to move in already!

Also because this is lets face it a fashion blog did you spot Olivia Palermo rocking the Camilla and Marc botanical print pants? I just need a pair of these baby's on me ASAP! Elin Kling was also spotted wearing a floral print jean, they are a must have item ladies (and gentlemen if you dare to try).

For everyone who is not in Melbourne, I hope you enjoyed your weekend. Melbourne reader's LONG WEEKEND!!

Sunny Autumn Day

Today was beautiful, eventually. This morning it was miserable and cold and i was wearing a big fluffy jumper but by this afternoon the sun was out and it was a really nice temperature. Here is my outfit of the day. Very casual as all I did today was go to the hairdresser to get a much needed haircut!

I'm wearing floral pants by Friend Of  Mine a plain tee from Bardot, Jewllery from everywhere which you cant really see but that big black ring is from diva, im also wearing a ring I bought from Down Yonder earlier this week, a Tiffany & Co bracelet and some random green flats. My lovely mum took this picture while i was just sitting the garden relaxing enjoying the last of the sun for the day.

Hope you all had a fabulous week and have an even better weekend!

Limitless Boundaries

Everybody has a different sense of style, every single person is unique and has something about them that makes them special to everyone who knows them. As I have been watching each of the 4 fashion weeks go by I found myself feeling like i could be seeing a different version of the same show over and over again, with a few notable exceptions of course. Except for yesterday when i came across Manish Arora's fall collection it was like an explosion of passion it was bold, daring something different it screamed out to me it excited me i just wanted to see more creativity more thinking outside the box. I would love it if every designer could just break all the rules and shock me next season, but then we would lose the simple seeming yet amazingly detailed collections that we see, the must have classics that last a life time. I guess what I am trying to say is, every collection every piece every detail is just as unique as a person.
Back to Manish Arora I really want to share this very special and again this is how i feel it may not be to everyone's taste collection with you. I hope that it stirs some form of passion and creativity inside you as it did for me.

A truly magnificent work of art, a collection born from a brilliant mind that knows no limits.
